Sinks / Fixtures / Appliances

When choosing sink, fixtures, and appliances take a trip to your local hardware store and browse the items they carry in the store. This will give you a good idea of size and shape, and if you would like a piece in your home. You may find while looking at catalogs of these items, your impressed by the look. However in real life it may not actually fit your taste. The best and cheapest way of avoiding a costly change is to pre shop for items you know you'll want included in your new kitchen or bath.

Major retail outlets are a good place to start. They offer a wide selection, and quality brands that most residential general contractors would approve of. Make a note of these items, write down the item number, and even take pictures with your camera phone to give to your contractor. This will aid them in helping you decide the proper styles for cabinetry and counter tops to match.

It's also very important that you know what size appliances you are buying. Your contractor will need to make sure everything will fit correctly but, some models of appliances have different sizes, so make sure everyone is clear on what models you are purchasing so there is no confusion.
